Team Assignment
Grouping: Children will be assigned to the Blue or Red team at registration.
Participation: Your child will need to have been registered and have a donation for them to take part. We can't accept new participants on the day, and also have a 500 child limit
Team Preparation: Volunteer marshals will help set you up in your position on the rope.
2
Tug-of-War Matches
Best of Five: Each match will start and finish with a loud horn. It will be a best of five tug-of-war match between the teams.
Game Play: The winning team will need to drag the rope at least four meters from the centre mark line. A horn will sound when a team has won each game. More instructions will be sent beforehand.
3
Breaks and Refreshments
Refreshments: There will be refreshments on site to be purchased, we're finalising this with the council and will confirm in the run up to the event. Please bring your own just in case as the event will last up to 90 mins from registration to finish.

Safety First
First Aid: On-site medical personnel will be available for any assistance needed.
Clothing & Safety: Ensure your children wear flat soles and clothing suitable for physical activity. The kids are welcome to wear gloves if they like. No footwear with studs is allowed, and under no circumstance can the rope be wrapped around shoulders for extra grip. Participation is at your own risk!
5
Post-Event
Final game: After the final game people are free to go. Please take all rubbish with you. When the space is clear the rope will be cut into smaller pieces and donated to local forestry schools.
Results Announcement: After the event we'll send Guinness World Records all the evidence they require to say the attempt has been successful. They state it can take a few weeks to respond with confirmation. We will email everyone with their Guinness World Record certificate once we hear our attempt has been approved. Please note that GWR have stated they can't name every child on their website for the record if we are successful, and that submission into the printed book is not guaranteed.

Lastly, whilst we hope to break the record, the most important thing is the money we raise for War Child. Thanks for taking part :)
